Based in Vancouver, she serves multiple generations of affluent families across Canada, offering tailored banking and deposit solutions, specialized lending, and coordinated wealth services. Her aim: to simplify their day-to-day financial needs, and adeptly guide them through complexity to achieve their goals.

Joining BMO in 1997, Karen gained valuable experience in Corporate Finance and Commercial Banking, with a specialization in treasury management. Transitioning into Private Banking in 2011, she continues to tap into her expert knowledge and connections to efficiently and effectively serve her clients.

Karen holds a Certified Financial Planner® designation, considered the industry’s gold standard for its rigorous education, training, and ethical standards, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia.

Outside of her work with clients, Karen enjoys visiting local wineries, mornings on her Peloton, and spending time with her family in White Rock, where they have resided for more than two decades.

Winnie Leung

Private Banking Officer

Informed by more than 20 years of front-line service in banking, Winnie brings elevated understanding and professionalism to every task—whether she’s supporting clients directly, or behind the scenes. Organized and efficient, she’s consistently earned accolades for the high level of customer satisfaction she delivers.  

Winnie began her financial services career while earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia. In 2005, she transitioned to the Hong Kong branch of HSBC Bank International Limited, with a focus on helping ex-pats with their global wealth needs. She then spent 13 years as a Client Service Executive for HSBC Global Private Banking, before returning to Canada to take on her role with BMO.

An accomplished pianist, she was recognized with First Class Honors with Distinction by the Royal Conservatory of Music. Outside of her passion for music, she enjoys spending her free time enjoying all Vancouver has to offer with her husband and two children.

Suki Chahal

Senior Wealth Planning Consultant at BMO Private Wealth

As a member of the BMO High Net Worth Wealth Planning team, Suki brings together the knowledge and experience of our in-house tax and estate professionals and works with BMO financial professionals and their clients to develop sound wealth management plans. She provides support and direction around complex issues such as retirement and income planning, tax planning, cash management, business succession, transition planning, estate and gift planning, and charitable giving.
 
Experience and background
Suki is originally from the UK where she completed her BA (Hon.) degree in Public Administration
and Managerial Studies. She moved to British Columbia in the mid 90s and lives in Richmond with her husband, three sons and dog Alfie. Suki has over twenty years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to working with BMO, she worked at several major Canadian banks in banking, financial planning and insurance advisory roles.
 
Suki brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the wealth planning role. She has the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS™) and Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC®) designations, and is working towards the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation. Suki is also a former recipient of the Leslie Dunstall Award for BC.

Caitlin Wang, CPA, CMA, CFP®

Senior Wealth Planning Consultant

Caitlin brings together the knowledge and experience of our in-house tax and estate professionals and works with BMO Private Wealth professionals and their clients to develop
sound wealth management plans. Caitlin ensures a great client experience during the wealth planning process. She helps to identify and solve complex issues by providing strategies that are both appropriate for each client’s
unique situation and practical in execution.

 

Caitlin joined BMO Private Wealth in 2022, after 15 years in various roles in the BMO Personal Banking division. In 2015, Caitlin became a Financial Planner and obtained the Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP®), helping
clients including new immigrants, working professionals and business owners to achieve financial success. Drawing on extensive financial planning experience, she helps analyze tax planning, trust and estate, philanthropic planning and risk management. Caitlin articulates complex solutions effectively so clients can envision their future.

Sue advises high net worth individuals and families on specialized estate and trust solutions as part of an intregrated wealth planning team. She advises clients on their complex estate planning to help them understand the different strategies that they can use to preserve family relations and maximize their wealth.

Prior to joining BMO Private Wealth, Sue gained invaluable experience at an Ontario law firm, where her practice focused on private client services including estate planning, trusts, wills and estate administration ranging from routine matters to complex multi-jursidictional estates. Sue previously worked with a large national trust company where she dealt with high net worth clients and advised them on their complex estate planning.
