Mike Veinot

Mike Veinot

I am proud to be an Investment Advisor working with BMO Private Wealth – Nesbitt Burns. I have spent the previous eight years at BMO Nesbitt Burns working closely with successful individuals and their families, helping them to meet their wealth objectives while mitigating taxes and helping them understand the risks they don’t always realize they‘re taking. Prior to joining BMO Nesbitt Burns in 2017, I spent over 20 years in the investment industry most recently as Vice-President, Regional Sales at BMO Global Asset Management. In that role I was responsible for coaching and advising hundreds of investment advisors across all four Atlantic Provinces on how to better serve their clients. I graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a double major in Economics and Finance. I have a thirst for knowledge leading me to complete the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and I’m also a member of the local (Atlantic Canada) CFA Society. I sought out the CFA designation because it is known in the investment industry as the highest ethical standard. I was born in Kentville, NS. I lived and breathed all sports growing up but my greatest passion was volleyball. Currently I live in Hammonds Plains, NS with my wife Jen, and daughter Cecelia. I have a dedication to construction and growth that fuels my professional life as well as my pastimes which are currently more focused around my family, landscaping and carpentry.”

Oyler MacDougall Wealth Advisors

rob

Rob Oyler

Rob Oyler joined Oyler MacDougall Wealth Advisors in 1996. Rob grew up hearing stories around the dinner table from his father and our founder, John, about clients whose patience and discipline paid off in strong financial outcomes. He repeats those same stories for our clients’ benefit today and applies his father’s principles in helping to run our practice. Rob has received the Wealth Advisor (WA), Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) designations and is also licensed to provide life insurance. He coached lacrosse, hockey, and football extensively for so many organizations while his kids were growing up that it felt like his second job for a long time. Rob enjoys being involved in supporting young people in sports and hopes to revisit that role down the road one day when he retires. In 2017, Rob took up cycling with his wife Sue and this passion drives him to log hundreds of kilometers every year whenever the Nova Scotia climate allows, and Rob and Sue like to include cycling on many of their vacations. They have three grown kids that are their pride and joy – two live out west and one lives in Halifax. Rob and Sue love being involved in their lives as much as possible.

james

James Oyler (MPA)

Raised in a financial family, Jamie Oyler had a golden opportunity to learn from his father, John, the founder of our team. Having been introduced to the investment industry early in life, the importance of building clients’ trust and working with integrity was instilled in him from the start. After earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance at Dalhousie University, Jamie began his career as an Investment Advisor in 1987. He earned the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®) designation in 1990. Jamie then joined the Oyler Wealth Advisory Group in 1989 and became licenced as a Portfolio Manager, enabling him to perform discretionary investment services. The discretionary platform frees our clients from having to make daily investment decisions and empowers our team to act quickly and fairly when opportunities or risks arise. In addition to advising his own roster of affluent clients, Jamie also leads our team’s big-picture, long-term vision and liaises with the BMO Private Wealth management team. Having completed corporate coaching programs, Jamie applies these valuable skills in shaping our team’s governance, direction and processes. Jamie has volunteered extensively as a coach over the years, mostly with his children’s sports teams, and currently coaches co-ed badminton at Sommet High School. When he’s not in the office, Jamie spends his time travelling with his wife Christine, playing badminton, cooking, and trying to keep up with his three grown sons.
