Tyler Chapman, CFA®, MBA
Investment Counsellor & Portfolio Manager
Tyler Chapman joined BMO Private Investment Counsel in 2023 after advising Canadian public and private pension plans, endowments, foundations, as well as sophisticated affluent and ultra-affluent families and their family offices. He moved from the institutional world to the advisory side of the industry because he felt that working directly with end clients to achieve their goals was the most rewarding and meaningful aspect of his work.
Previously, Tyler had worked in leadership roles with two prominent asset management firms, honing his skills in portfolio construction, risk mitigation and security analysis. Before that, he worked as a Product Manager with BMO Nesbitt Burns for several years.
Tyler holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation, and MBA from Queen’s University after completing his undergraduate business degree from Western University. He is a member of the Toronto CFA Society and the Cataraqui Golf and Country Club in Kingston and a former member of the Scarboro Golf and Country Club. Tyler enjoys getting involved in outdoor charity work such as tree planting and community gardening projects.
After spending his early childhood in the UK, Tyler’s family settled in Unionville, Ontario. After 20 years in Toronto, He and his wife Kelly, a fellow Queen’s grad, moved with their young sons Henry and James to Kingston in 2023. Together they enjoy a multitude of outdoor activities, including golf, hockey, tennis, hiking, and relaxing at the family cottage in Gananoque. Tyler also enjoys reading non-fiction books, but never strays too far from a good sci-fi novel either.
