Daniel Sumner, CFA
Senior Investment Counsellor and Portfolio Manager
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Dan entered the finance industry in 2008. Equipped with a Master’s in Economics from Queen’s University, Dan worked as an Economist in Calgary, forecasting the economy and appearing frequently in local and national TV & print media.
Transitioning to the resource sector in 2012, Dan worked corporate finance roles at Talisman Energy followed by BHP Billiton in Saskatoon. A holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, Dan began working at BMO Private Banking in September 2017.
A broad finance background gained from working at large multinational firms combined with his knowledge of the local economy allow Dan to relate to prairie clients and offer them expertise in investment management. Having been told he’s a good listener, Dan will professionally work with you to get an in-depth understanding of your needs and apply his investment expertise to your portfolio. In addition to investment management, Dan will work to use the resources of BMO Private Bank including wealth planning, private banking, trust and estate and business succession to provide the highest level of service to you.
Vidhu Khosla, MBA, CFA, TEP
Senior Investment Counsellor & Portfolio Manager
Vidhu is a seasoned Portfolio Manager who is passionate about providing investment management, comprehensive wealth planning, and exceptional client service to affluent and ultra-high-net-worth families. Vidhu’s particular focus is trust and estate planning.
After moving to Canada, Vidhu began working with BMO in 2007. Over the years, Vidhu has gained broad and deep experience across financial analysis, banking, small business, tax and estate planning, and investment counsel. Vidhu collaborates closely with colleagues in Commercial Banking and Corporate Finance, Business Succession and Advisory, and Cross-Border Banking to deliver tailored, integrated solutions to clients.
Vidhu holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Financial Management Services, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance. Vidhu has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation, and is a member of the Calgary CFA Society and STEP Canada.
As a multilingual professional, Vidhu is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu. Having lived and worked in India, Vidhu brings a global and holistic perspective, with a deep understanding of the cultural needs and nuances of entrepreneurial Indian and Chinese families.
Outside of work, Vidhu enjoys spending time with Vidhu’s husband and two grown children, hiking, and playing and watching sports such as tennis. Vidhu is also an enthusiastic new member of the office slow pitch team. Vidhu’s husband is a chef, and one of Vidhu’s favorite pastimes is watching him cook while entertaining friends and family.
Na (Catherine) Li, PFP
Associate Investment Counsellor
Catherine Li is an Associate Investment Counsellor with BMO Private Investment Counsel (BPIC), where she supports the delivery of discretionary investment management and holistic wealth solutions to high net worth families.
Prior to joining BPIC, Catherine built a strong client facing career with HSBC Canada and RBC, where she served as a Senior Relationship Manager and Financial Planner. In these roles, she advised affluent clients on comprehensive financial planning matters, including investment strategy, retirement planning, tax efficiency, and wealth structuring. Her experience across both banking and wealth management has given her a well rounded, practical perspective on addressing complex client needs.
In her current role, Catherine works closely with Portfolio Managers and an integrated team of banking, trust, estate, and wealth planning professionals to deliver tailored investment solutions aligned with clients’ long term objectives. She is known for her disciplined approach, strong analytical skills, and commitment to exceptional client service.
Catherine is a bilingual professional, fluent in English and Mandarin, and frequently supports clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Her ability to communicate clearly across languages and cultures enhances her effectiveness in building trusted, long term client relationships.
Heather Berg
Portfolio Assistant
Heather brings over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 25 years with BMO Bank of Montreal, making her a valuable asset to the team. Throughout her career at BMO, Heather has held a variety of roles, beginning as a Customer Service Representative before progressing to Financial Services Manager. She later transitioned into a Personal Banker role, which she held for 17 years, before joining BMO Private Banking.
Over the course of her career, Heather has worked closely with both personal and commercial clients, supporting their lending, investment, and day to day banking needs. This broad and well rounded banking background has equipped her with the knowledge and experience required to deliver exceptional client service. In 2023, Heather assumed the role of Portfolio Assistant at BMO Private Banking, where she serves as the primary point of contact for clients’ day to day needs and supports the overall client experience.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loves camping during the summer months and sharing her appreciation of the outdoors with her grandchildren. Heather and her husband are also avid travelers, having explored many destinations together, with many more still on their list.
Dean Ziegler

Dean has worked with high net-worth individuals and families with BMO Wealth for over a decade. His experience spans across the financial industry, ranging from managed investments, fixed income, and equities, to retail banking, personal lending and estate and trust. Dean is recognized by his calm demeanor and knowledgeable approach that resonates with clients and colleagues alike.
Originally from Saskatchewan, Dean has a Masters of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan, and has successfully completed all three levels of the CFA Program.
