Robert Hunter

Senior Investment Counsellor & Portfolio Manager

I began working in the financial services industry in 2005. As a person who loves helping individuals and families to achieve their goals and take the right path, I gravitated very quickly to the client-facing side of the business. It is rewarding to tackle the challenges and complexities of each client’s situation, and every day is new because no two client scenarios are the same.

I joined BMO Private Banking in 2013 and have 19 years of investment management experience as well as a strong wealth planning background. Prior to becoming a Senior Investment Counsellor, I was a Private Wealth Advisor at BMO Private Banking, a Financial and Retirement Planner and Investments Solutions Representative at BMO Investments Inc. and a Trading Associate at BMO Wealth Management.

My credentials include an Honours Economics degree from Western University’s Huron University College and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations. I am a member in good standing of the Toronto CFA Society and FP Canada.

I am married with two young boys, we lead a very healthy and active lifestyle enjoying a variety of sports and physical activities.  Additionally, we are musical family as my wife and I both play guitar and piano.
