About Michael

Michael Clark, CFA

Senior Investment Counsellor & Portfolio Manager

For more than 15 years I have had the privilege of advising individuals in the area of investment management. As a Private Wealth Professional at BMO Private Investment Counsel Inc. since 2012, I offer professional investment management expertise and advice to help individuals and their families enjoy and simplify their wealth.

I spend time getting an in-depth understanding about what a wealthy life means to every client – their priorities on family, work, lifestyle and money. Spending time to develop a relationship and understanding is a focus during this process.

Then with the knowledge of my clients, along with our passionate, diverse team of wealth management professionals, I create a customized, flexible investment plan.  Knowing that people change over time, plans should too. I adjust regularly to external conditions and personal transitions.

This approach saves people time and worry when making important decisions. They know their financial affairs are in order and remain on track to reach their goals throughout their lives – the ultimate benchmark of success.

Raised in Alberta, for the past 20 years I have been proud to call Edmonton my home.  With extensive investment management experience, following my passion I transitioned to BMO Private Wealth in 2012. I hold a Bachelor of Commence degree from University of Alberta, as well as being a Certified Financial Analyst Charterholder (CFA®), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), Financial Management Advisor (FMA), and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI®). I believe the strength of your Investment Counsellor comes not only from the strong client relationship, but also from continued professional development.  I am a current member of the CFA Institute and the Edmonton CFA Society, and regularly participate in professional development through the societies.

Living in Edmonton, I enjoy taking advantage of all the beautiful city has to offer.  On the weekends I can regularly be found hiking, snow shoeing, or biking through the river valley.  While I enjoy all types of biking, I consider myself to be a triathlon enthusiast, having completed over 20 races. In 2012 I attempted my first full distance Ironman, since then I have completed eight.  Being connected to my community is important to me, I regularly volunteer with the United Way, as well as a coach for Hockey Edmonton.  My wife and I are passing on our value in giving back to our two children by supporting their participation in the Stollery Superstar’s program.
