Investment Management

Kent Turner, CFA, MBA

Senior Investment Counsellor & Portfolio Manager

As your Investment Counsellor my central purpose is to help you and your family grow and protect your wealth. I will also help manage the complexity that often comes with financial success so that you can spend your time on the things that matter most to you.

My interest in the world of business and finance stems from a down-to-earth upbringing in an entrepreneurial family. My parents owned and managed a successful meat and seafood shop in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island where I learned the value of hard work, discipline, and most importantly how to proudly serve customers with honesty and integrity.

With over 20 years of investment management experience, I joined BMO Private Wealth in 2014.  I was drawn to the firm by its culture of teamwork, a belief that clients are best served by bringing together a team of financial specialists from investment management, tax planning, and estate and trust services. I am also a strong believer in discretionary investment management. Superior investment returns are achieved when we leverage the full power of the organization to bring the most modern, sophisticated investment strategies to client portfolios.

In addition to earning my CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation in 2005, I have an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island and an MBA from McGill University. I am also an active member of the Ottawa CFA Society. In my spare time I enjoy cross-country and downhill skiing, skating, cycling, the occasional round of golf, and spending quality time with close friends and family, especially at the cottage!

I look forward to working with you.
