Michael has over 10 years’ experience helping High Net Worth families across Canada plan for their futures, by understanding what is important to them and creating comprehensive Wealth Plans to guide them, with a focus on risk management, retirement planning, family trusts, complex corporate structures, and estate planning needs. Previously, Michael worked in a boutique insurance advisory practice focused on estate planning and life insurance solutions for High Net Worth professionals.
Michael graduated from The University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. He has a Graduate Certificate in Professional Financial Services and holds a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation, a Certified Health Insurance Specialist (CHS) designation, and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Andy Guidi, CPA, CA
Director, Tax Planning
Andy is a dedicated professional helping people preserve and grow their wealth. With an expertise in Canadian income tax, Andy assists clients on business structures, succession and estate planning, owner- manager remuneration, corporate reorganizations, the appropriate use of trusts and holding companies, asset divestitures, business split-ups and a variety of other tax planning strategies.
Drawing on public practice experience, he offers a depth of practical insight, as well as the unique ability to translate complex tax concepts into efficient strategies clients can easily comprehend.
Andy joined BMO Wealth Management in 2014, after filling progressively senior management roles in the domestic tax practice of Grant Thornton LLP, where he developed and implemented tax planning strategies for business owners and high net worth individuals.
Jonathan Morse, LL.B, LL.M, TEP
Director, Estate Planning
Jonathan works with high-net-worth clients to devise estate solutions that are right for them. He identifies concerns and helps clients navigate legal and non-legal issues to ideally avoid future estate disputes. Jonathan’s clients benefit from his insights and ability to put them at ease during an otherwise challenging conversation. He analyses facts with a good grasp of the details and overall risk factors. Jonathan helps clients to achieve their goals with practical estate and tax plan strategies. He enjoys working with individual clients as well as speaking with larger groups about the overall themes in estate planning. He is an effective and engaging communicator.
As a Director of Wealth Planning, Jonathan focuses on Estate & Trust matters. He joined the BMO in August 2015 after five years in private practice as a lawyer and another five years with a national trust company. While in private practice, Jonathan worked as an associate at an estate litigation firm. Before law school, he wrote speeches for a federal cabinet minister.

In addition to his multiple industry designations, in 2015 John was nominated as a member of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU), a national advocacy group working on advanced planning issues in cooperation with the three levels of government. John has a special interest in corporate and personal tax, focusing on ways to reduce or eliminate it from the client’s plan. Away from work, John enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and two boys.
Ray Abi, CFP
Senior Private Banker
As a Senior Private Banker, Ray’s responsibilities include the day-to-day banking activities of our high-net-worth clients including lending, mutual funds and term deposits as well as all of the auxiliary services offered through the bank. Ray manages a portfolio of ultra and high net worth clients for BMO Private Banking and its partners in the Greater Toronto Area. He provides a very high level of services to his clients.
Ray joined the retail division of BMO Bank of Montreal in 1991 where he held the following roles: Customer Service Representative, focusing on clients’ transactional needs; Financial Services Manager, focusing on clients Lending and Investment needs; Financial Planner, focusing on Wealth and Investment Planning and Branch Manager, focusing on coaching and development of staff while continuing to promote a customer friendly environment where we take care of our clients’ needs. Ray joined BMO Private Banking as a Private Banker in June 2013. Ray continues to use his skillsets to develop lasting client relationships that foster the holistic wealth planning approach that BMO Private Banking is well known for.
Hilary Wasserman, MA, JD
Associate Director, Estate and Trust Services
Hilary brings her background as a lawyer practicing in estate and family law to her estate
administration role at BMO Trust Company. Hilary has extensive experience acting as the courtappointed ETDL and Guardian. She uses her training in Alternative Dispute Resolution to manage complex family dynamics.
Prior to working in the financial sector, Hilary oversaw the legacy giving program at a national charity. She brings her experience drafting wills and assisting donors with leaving a gift in their Will to her role at BMO Trust Company. She enjoys meeting with clients to assist them with their estate planning, specifically, helping them feel that they have organized their estate to ensure that they have taken care of their loved ones and causes important to them after they pass.
