Kan is a Senior Investment Counsellor and Portfolio Manager with BMO Private Investment Management Inc., specializing in wealth management, portfolio management, retirement planning, tax-efficient investing, risk management, succession planning, and multi-generational wealth strategies for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families across Canada.

He helps clients protect their capital, grow their investment portfolios, reduce tax exposure, and navigate market volatility through a disciplined, research-based approach. Kan’s expertise spans asset allocation, diversified portfolio construction, retirement income optimization, estate planning integration, family wealth governance, and long-term financial planning.

As part of BMO’s national team of accredited professionals, Kan provides a family-office style advisory experience supported by BMO’s global investment resources, institutional research and advanced planning tools. Clients benefit from coordinated guidance across investments, retirement, tax strategy, estate considerations and intergenerational wealth transfer.

Kan joined BMO in 2015 and brings over 18 years of experience in the wealth management and investment advisory industry. His background includes deep expertise in financial markets, global economic analysis, strategic portfolio design, tax-efficient saving strategies (RRSP, TFSA, RRIF), risk assessment and evidence-based investment decision-making.

He holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Winnipeg and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Associate Investment Counsellor

Bruno is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our team, ensuring efficient trade execution, risk management, and strict adherence to regulatory compliance. He works closely with Kanyika Mangachi to provide investment advice to clients, manage compliance-related matters, and support the preparation of agreements and documentation. Bruno also plays a key role in addressing client inquiries with professionalism and responsiveness.

Fluent in English, French, and Portuguese, Bruno is known for his persistence, professionalism, and approachable demeanor. His strong communication skills and positive outlook complement his deep motivation to excel in portfolio management, asset allocation, and client service.

Bruno joined BMO Private Investment Counsel at BMO Private Wealth in 2021. He previously served as an Investment and Personal Banking Specialist at Scotiabank. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Concordia University and has earned the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation. He is currently pursuing the Financial Planning designation through the Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF).

Outside of work, Bruno enjoys staying active, exploring Montreal’s vibrant restaurant scene, attending social events, and traveling—whether for weekend escapes or international adventures.

Cristina has been with the Bank of Montreal since 2016 and began her career as a client service representative. She soon transferred her expertise to BMO Wealth Management in 2018, serving as client care officer and later becoming a portfolio assistant in 2021.

Cristina earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the John Molson School of Business in 2020, majoring in Finance with a minor in Management. She is trilingual in English, French, and Italian, and brings both strong communication skills and a global perspective to her client relationships.

Cristina works closely with Bruno Paulo and Kanyika Mangachi, playing a key role in the day-to-day operations of the team. She oversees the administrative hub, supports risk management, and ensures compliance across all activities. She is responsible for on-boarding new clients (account opening documentation) and transferring funds. Cristina is also the main point of contact for clients, providing seamless support and ensuring every interaction is met with care and clarity.

Outside the office, Cristina is passionate about travel and discovering new destinations. She is a dedicated supporter of the arts—especially classical ballet—and enjoys volunteering, reading, and training in her free time.
