Experience & Background
Kate began her career as an estates and trusts litigator at a downtown Toronto law firm, working on will challenges, capacity litigation, and passings of accounts. She has appeared in the Superior Court of Justice and Small Claims Court on behalf of her clients, and has experience in estates and trusts mediation.
 
Kate has a proven track record acting as a court-appointed estate trustee during litigation, guardian of property, and successor trustee for complex estates and trusts. She enjoys meeting with clients to assist them with their estate planning needs, including disability planning, business succession planning, and planned charitable giving.
 
Kate has authored or co-authored papers for The Advocate’s Quarterly, Your Guide to Charitable Giving & Estate Planning, the Law Society of Ontario the Ontario Bar Association, and the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners Canada.

• Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University

About Kate
Kate grew up in Toronto, and enjoys walking her two dogs on the city’s many ravine trails. She is passionate about sports, and has volunteered at the IIHF World Juniors, CHL Memorial Cup, as well as worked at Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors games. Kate has worked exclusively in estates and trusts since entering law school.
