Bruce Farnell has assisted BMO clients extensively with estate, will and trust planning and has the insight, expertise and commitment to help you realize your aspirations at all stages of life. Based in London, Bruce assists affluent Southern, Eastern, Northern, and Central Ontario families outside the GTA. He works from BMO offices in London, Windsor, Kitchener/Waterloo, Hamilton/Niagara, Kingston, Ottawa (bigger group), Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie and will also travel to visit you at your home.

Prior to joining BMO, Bruce was a lawyer at Gloin, Hall & Shields in St. Thomas for 25 years, providing family law, wills and estate law, performing corporate estate freezes and structuring, and delivering real estate legal services. Altogether, Bruce brings 35 years of experience advising affluent families on financial and family matters.

Bruce previously worked as a Director, Will & Estate Planning at BMO Wealth Management. He holds a law degree from the University of Ottawa and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1986. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Law Associations of Middlesex County, Elgin County, and the Estate Planners’ Council of London.

On a personal note, Bruce enjoys spending time with his extended family at his cottage on Lake Huron. He and his wife of 40 years, Sharon, travel often to visit their daughter, Ingrid, a research biologist in forest ecology in Northern British Columbia, and their son, Derek, a civil engineer who is a construction supervisor on the Gordie Howe Bridge in Windsor. A former member and past president of the local Kinsmen Club and Cancer Society Branch, Bruce is currently a volunteer and board member for The Thames Talbot Land Trust. In his spare time, you will find Bruce road cycling, skiing, camping, hunting or reading.
